deleted_account
Please contribute your Post-Installation procedures... Stability can be an issue and major concern, so it's always good to double-check, if not triple check, I am curious to know if others run tests on the systems stabilites, for example, not limited to: Testing: - sleep mode - sleep with hard disks off - restart - shut off - resume from screensaver - EFI bootloader working correctly? - graphics tests - external drives, connectivity, response - network issues? - disk permissions? - kexts, etc... Maybe contributions could add up to a compiled list others could learn from. This thread is intended to help others achieve a stable OS X system. mschilling
Good examples of things to check. The first challenge is getting on the internet and then I check youtube for flash video function and sound (ok). Mine won't sleep it justs sleeps the hd. Restart shuts it down although it seems a little too long to do with no hd activity near the end. Startup is pretty fast. Shutoff has given me a black screen so I don't use it. Screensaver seems to work perfectly although I haven't timed it. Expose works great to give me manual screensaver. I turn sleep off in prefs, but leave hd sleep on, don't know if it works. I have seen the "timing" error at EFI loading once and rebooted. USB seems normal although I've had my WD USB external hd turn off a couple times unexpectedly but I think it's the drive. Wireless internet works fine, but haven't fully tried to share with our ibook. Did replace a kext for battery display, the only so far. I understand VMWare makes quite a few applications for different operating system purposes.
