panda08
hello All: i downloaded and used jas 10.4.8 iso to install the OS in my thinkpad t42 laptop yesterday. the installation went fine with no error. After the installation. i restarted my laptop. Initially i can see a grey screen with an apple logo in the center. Then i saw a wheel was spinning ... the hdd light was blinking as well. but it only happened about 10 sec and then the whole screen went BLANK. i waited for more than half an hour but nothing had happened? i also restarted my laptop serveral times but nothing has changed. the hdd light was not blinking also... is the problem caused by some conflicts with the video card and anyone can tell me how can i fix it? cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89296-help-install-no-probem-but-blank-screen-after-restart/ Share on other sites

Guest
I experienced that problem as well and i still haven't managed to fix it yet... after that it also managed to crash Windows XP as well... I had to reinstall Win XP as nothing worked.. Did you also get music as well during the blank screen... This happened to me on my Vaio VGN Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89296-help-install-no-probem-but-blank-screen-after-restart/#findComment-639053 Share on other sites
CompCrasher86
Is the blank screen blue? If so I have seen this problem on other brand laptops but never on a T series. Anywho, give this a shot... Try plugging in an external monitor and then booting up. There is a topic around here (It might even be in the wiki) about making a little stub plug that you can use to trick OSX into thinking an external monitor is plugged in so that you can use it on the move. Thao
A little flashing white line is usually a sign that you have the wrong partition set as active?
