So I finally got Leopard to install using the best tutorial ever (from the wiki for Aitkos). My system is a prebuilt HP m9040n, and everything went smoothly, even found the ktext from searching the forums for my video card. Problem is... Ethernet and wifi aren't working, Pro Tools isn't seeing my mbox2, and I have no sound. This is just what I've noticed so far. Any ideas/pointers/suggestions? I'm dying to start recording again on my system, and since my q6600 system isn't really compatible with xp (tried finding drivers= massive fail)... I decided to try Leo.

Please help as all I want to do is get this up and running, and record some of my music before I lose it. ANY help is greatly appreciated. When I boot into Mac, my mbox isn't seen by osx, and I can't get online with safari. Found a few ktext's but wasn't sure I have the intel/100v pro or whatever for the ktexts I have and didn't want to ruin anything.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you know the manufacturer and device ID (found in windows through the device manager in windows) then you can search for the appropriate fixes. There are a LOT of posts about your problem, you're going to have to do some work looking for the solution.

hey there craig, I just bought a system just like yours and I am trying to get to the install part. I am having difficulty with the 2 installation disks I have to choose from and I thought I would inquire what you used- I can't get past a apple flashing before the system reboots. I am using kalway and have the leo4all install as well, but neither give me joy at this point. I have been trying to edit the bios to find acceptance of the dvd as start up, but I can't locate what I could change that could make the difference. I keep reading about ACPI settings, but theres no choice for that in the HP bios that I can see. the bios is 5.13

thanks for any pointers,

Kenny

Before you install MacOSX, please download and install EasyBCD1.7 in your windows Vista, then you can have dual boot Vista Home Premium + MacOSx

Restart your computer, press F10 to edit BIOS, select Advanced Tab, look at SATA1 Controller [Enable] --> SATA1 Controller Mode (press Enter-Key) --> [iDE] (3 options - IDE, AHCI, RAID), then F10 to save

Load Kayway10.5.2 into BR/HD-DVD Rom, restart your comp, hit Esc Key, then select boot from DVD

Press F8, type -v

....

....

....

Right click on 2nd harddrive which is HP_Pavilion --> select partition (at least 2) -> options MRB......

Note: YES - you can install MaxOSX on the same harddrive of your Vista Home Premium ( HP, Recovery)

I already installed a GUID to the second drive and partitioned it for OS X but I can;t even get the computer to start up from OS X past flashing the startup apple on the install disk. I am using Kalyway 1.51 iso, and have the leopard4all3 as well, which isn't helping, grabbing the iATKO2 currently and will be trying that. I did put 4 gigs [2x2g] ram in, shows up fine in windows and the bios but maybe its stopping the dvd boot? I switched the ide controller in the bios like you said. is there any place to adjust the ACPI 2 settings that I am not seeing?
