Welshkiwi
Well, looks like i'm going to go with the Macbook Pro. One final question though. When I want to install XP or Vista, do I need a 2nd drive or can i create a partition on my drive and dual boot that way? Software Updater
You could use boot camp or Cross-Over doesn't require you to restart. But can I use the same drive or does it have to be on another? thespottedelf
but if you gonna game use bootcamp (or anything that is heavy on the processor ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88382-possibly-going-to-buy-my-first-macthoughts/page/2/#findComment-633476 Share on other sites
~pcwiz
Yeah, for basic office tasks and perhaps some unintensive gaming, using virtualization software like Parallels, VMware Fusion, or CrossOver would work perfectly fine and you can use the same drive, same partition, but if you are going into intensive Windows gaming, then you should use Boot Camp, which runs Windows natively, and it requires a separate partition but not a separate drive. Welshkiwi
Hahah..well, i`ve been a PC user for many years and I just feel its time for a change. With teh ability to have Xp or Vista running on the laptop too, its a good thing I reckon. Next month, i`ll be the proud owner of a Macbook pro.
