sw_clones
hey all, i have a dell latitude d520 laptop with 950 GMA, and intel 82801BA HD audio device. i am using the JaS 10.4.8 Intel Install DVD. I have gotten pretty much everything else working: wifi, system speedups, etc. however, i have spent over three days trying to get audio to work: sifting through forums and downloading kexts. i am really getting frusterated. all i need is sound through my speakers, and i would like to have my built-in mic and line in to work, also. will someone PLEASE help me!!! i am learning the terminal, so i think i can handle command-line installations. thanks! dell latitude D520 2 GB RAM Intel 950 GMA WiFi works NO SOUND! nate256
if you want sound looks like you need a cheap usb sound card look on ebay, they are like 5-10 dollars! they have both in-put and out-put sound is one of those things that can be tricky Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88292-no-sound-on-intel-gma-950/#findComment-629754 Share on other sites
Gujal
Intel GMA950 is display card not sound. Most probably you have Intel HDA controller with a Sigmatel codec (common on Dell Laptops). The codec is the important part for the driver you chose. Get the AppleHDA Patcher 1.20 and Sigmatel 9200 codec dump and get the AppleHDA kext patched. I got sound working on Latitude D620 working this way Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/88292-no-sound-on-intel-gma-950/#findComment-654505 Share on other sites
