  1. I have a Dell XPS 400 PC I got from a buddy of mine, and I believe it's been updated a bit. It has: Pentium D 820 (2.80 GHz) 2GB RAM ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series GPU (128MB) Floppy Drive Media Card Reader Wireless-G PCI Card FireWire PCI Card I am using 2 IDE hard disks as the SATA one broke. Is there any way to get Leopard runnng on my machine? If there is, which distro should I use, and what options in the "customize" section of the installation are needed? Thanks!
  2. Hey, I'm new at installing OSX86 on PCs. I was wondering if I had to do anything special to get SL working as best as possible on my machine. My hardware is: Pentium 4 CPU @ 3.20 2GB RAM ATI Radeon HD 3850 GPU (AGP) Foxconn 661GX7MJ-H Motherboard Sound: Realtek AC'97 HDA LAN: Broadcom 10/100M (I think) Now, I've done these steps: Ripped the install DVD of SL onto my old PPC Mac running 10.4.11 Formatted my 8GB flash drive to HFS+ Journaled (GUID) and installed the image to my flash drive. What now? Do I need kexts to make SL recognize my Pentium 4 and/or other hardware? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

hey all, i have a dell latitude d520 laptop with 950 GMA, and intel 82801BA HD audio device. i am using the JaS 10.4.8 Intel Install DVD. I have gotten pretty much everything else working: wifi, system speedups, etc. however, i have spent over three days trying to get audio to work: sifting through forums and downloading kexts. i am really getting frusterated. all i need is sound through my speakers, and i would like to have my built-in mic and line in to work, also. will someone PLEASE help me!!! i am learning the terminal, so i think i can handle command-line installations. thanks! dell latitude D520 2 GB RAM Intel 950 GMA WiFi works NO SOUND! Core 2 Duo
  4. hello all: i have sucessfully installed the Kalyway 10.5.1 leopard OS on my Dell Latitude D520 Series. (Specs) Intel Core 2 Duo @2.00 GhZ 120 GB HDD 2 GB RAM Intel 945 Chipset these are what i installed Kalyway with: 1) SSE2_system 2) Boot_efi_MBR (yes, i partitioned my hard drive to MBR) 3) vanilla kernel active (both options) Ok. so the installation went fine, no problems whatsoever. when i went to boot Leopard for the first time, it worked! when my BIOS was done loading, the message came up to "press any key to enter startup options" with a countdown of 5. i didn't press anything, i let it boot. so Leopard loaded, i completed the initial setup, and it worked fine, except NO SOUND AT ALL, or MIC input. i played with it for a bit, then shut it down. a while later, when i tried again, i did the same thing: just let it boot. the Apple screen with the spinning lines came up, and then my laptop rebooted. i pressed F12 at the BIOS, and selected the Internal HDD option to boot from. i then entered startup options and pressed F8 and then -v. this actually works "when it wants to", and it usually doesn't. but it does work sometimes, and i want to know why it does not always boot normally without pressing anything. it's driving me crazy! and can someone tell me how to get sound to work, again i have a Dell D520.
