Supermegatron, you dont have any credible insider sources that could possibly allow you to know anything that the majority of us don't know. Don't make speculation sound like fact.

 

Gris, to answer your question, 10.4.4 doesn't seem likely to be released as stand-alone. 10.4.5 or some later build might be. By the time 10.5 (Leopard) rolls around, it will most definately be universal. But as to whether it will be the FIRST universal disc, the simple answer is: nobody knows and nobody is frankly qualified in any way to answer it definitively

Apple got around to release 10.4.3 as standalone boxes. The versions between the first release (10.4.0) and that didn't get that treatment, AFAIK. And I don't think Apple is particularly feeling the need to release 10.4.4 as standalone. All Intel Macs will have 10.4.4 anyway.

Nah. I have an Apple Store very close to my house and every time I go, they always have the latest build of OS X for sale. There's this little green circle label that says what version it is. I've seen 10.4.1, 10.4.2, and 10.4.3 so far in that particular store.
