Wrenbird
uh oh. you might want to consider a new isp. i hear that comcast violates some privacy standards as well. also consider an ip blocker when torrenting, if they even let you use the bittorrent protocol anymore(another rumor i heard). try azureus + safepeer if you havent already

3nigma
It's real. One of my very good friends IRL had this happen. HBO was after him, actually, hehe. Comcast is a terrible, terrible company in every way. The legislature in Michigan is trying to break them up due to an illegal monopoly right now. They exploit their customers, have terrible service, charge terrible prices, disconnect people's lines, throttle torrent traffic (legal or illegal), break privacy agreements, etc. Stay away with a 100-foot-pole. -3nigma

Numberzz
I actually read it again and I read which file I downloaded. I did not download that. It is no where on my computer or anywhere else. Ironically, this is the day before I passworded our network. Do you guys think they will tell whoever produced this about me downloading it? (MoC)
They should. Listen, ask for every detail to be confirmed with them. Be a {censored} with them and even if they apologize if it was a mistake quit and get something like roadrunner. Good luck, and be careful so they don't take legal action. JonTheSavage
wheres the proof? I see no evidence. Case dismissed. Its a fear mongering tactic designed to keep you under their thumb. Send them a nice little letter, that if they continue their harrassment, you will personally sue the sender of said document, and will obtain a court order to have Comcast hand over the name of the employee that sent said document. If harrassing company continues to send letters, you will personally sue their CEO under terms of a broken contract. Go after the individuals, not the company. ScottAlpert
Same letter got sent to a good friend of mine around here. He did not respond to my knowledge, and nothing ever came of it. However, like all the others have stated above me, it's time for a new ISP. FIOS maybe?

However, like all the others have stated above me, it's time for a new ISP. FIOS maybe? No, I actually like Comcast's speeds. At 16MBPS I get around 3.5MB/s down and about 300kb/s up. That's pretty good, besides the whole illegal thing.
