Hi. I have a JAS 10.4.8 in my AMD Sempron (with SSE3).

And want to update the entire system... To 10.4.11.

But, is it possible?

My kernel:

Darwin mymachine.myhost 8.8.1 Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.1: Sat Dec 9 22:18:27 AZOT 2006; semthex:/nebukadnezar/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386

And what about using the EFI v8, with the new kernels? Do I need to reinstall the system? I 'm using this machine to work.. and can't stay too much time without it working.

I tried this http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=45283 without success.

Before installing the combo update I backuped the files:

/System/Library/CoreServices/loginwindow.app

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAPIC.kext

/System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext

/System/Library/Extensions/System.kext

/mach_kernel

Installed the combo update.

Restored all previews files.

Deleted the kext:

/System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext

amd:

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions.*

The I rebooted.

The system didn't work anymore.

I get a lot of errors in: loginwindow.app, and mDNSResponder

I'll reinstall 10.4.8.

My Machine is a AMD, Sempron, with SSE3. 64bits.

I guess that I'm getting this errors, because of my AMD processor.

Someone have tried to update Jas 10.4.8 to 10.4.11 using a AMD processor with SSE3?

Yes please do help. I have JaS 10.4.8 and combo update obviously will not work because it replaces AMD kernel with intel. I have AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and it only supports SSE2. System works great but all new apps wont run without update
