Alphroman
I'm glad to see you guys recommend that 8600. I'm trying to do some research before i purchase anything to build my hackintosh, and i've been trying to figure out what will be compatible and i've been leaning towards this Leadtek 8600GT from Newegg.com http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx...N82E16814122024 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85761-best-card-for-leopard-hackintosh/#findComment-609730 Share on other sites
daved69
What do you think about the asus version with passive cooling? Is a good version for hackintosh? stellarola
I'm going to go against getting an 8600GT. The performance just isn't there. I tested a 8600GT and a 7900GS. The 8600GT paled in comparison in terms of OS graphics. Animations were choppy and whatnot. If I were you, I'd get any of these cards... ATI 2600 Pro/XT Nvidia 7600GT, 7900GS, 7950GT, 8800GT, 8800GTS -Stell Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/85761-best-card-for-leopard-hackintosh/#findComment-610684 Share on other sites
2LMan
I'm running on a XFX 7900 GS 256mb with absolutely no problems. Just install NVInject and your good to go! denied
I really like the 8600. Not the fastest but good card for non-gamers. Supports screen rotate (which I had problems getting with some ATI x-series), and high res through dual-dvi. My 8600GT 256mb was dirt cheap and does a great job with dual dvi, I run one screen at 1920x1200 and one at 1200x1600 (rotated). Lots of 1080p video, photoshop, and just general UI--usually all at the same time on my E6420, never misses a beat. Excellent bang-for-the-buck if you're not a hardcore gamer, zero complaints.
