Yes, I've got the same problem with my DG965WH Motherboard...I've got an open thread about it too, but haven't heard back from anyone. I wonder if there's something common between our two boards that causes OS X not to recognize any PCI devices...

It's possible...there are people who need kexts from Tiger builds to make certain hardware run in Leopard so I don't think we can necessarily rule it out as a possible solution. If Tiger works then we can narrow down the problem. I briefly tried a Tiger install but got a kernel panic when my machine attempted to boot it after install. I've got too much homework right now to try and mess with it further. Plus I ordered another motherboard to save the hassle and so I can overclock my Q6700 ^^;

billmik, what motherboard are you using?

P.S. Glad and sad to see more people are having this problem. Glad because the chance of finding a solution increases. Sad we're having this trouble in the first place.

Hey all,

Same problem here. Have 2 m-audio pci sound cards that work great in my actual apple g4 machine, but do not work in my newly configured osx86 machine. Everything else works great, so far.

Any one found a resolution? I've read some stuff and it looks like that Leopard doesn't support PCI, Is that the case?

Running an Asus P5E motherboard with 8gb Corsair memory and a BFG Nvidia 8800 gt 512mb video card.

PCI Devices cannot be used in OSX. Why? Because real Macs don't have PCI slots, thus no drivers to detect them. Sorry. Macs only use PCI-Express Devices, which is not compatible with plain PCI.

Really? Did that start in the Intel Macs/Leopard? My real apple G4 were running these PCI cards just fine. Older Quicksilver g4 and tiger osx.

that´s absolutely wrong. there are several pci cards working on a hackintosh. it depends on a working driver. I have a uad-1 pci card working flawless with leo on the machines in my sig. RME has also released working drivers.

there is only one issue: they still don´t appear in system profiler :(

Oh yeah? Nice, so the system profiler will never show that there are pci devices installed? I was looking at the system profiler to see if the os would see the pci cards. I have M-Audio cards, they have drivers for each version of leopard 10.5.1 - 10.5.5. I'll see if I can get it working.

Thanks for the info Peach-os

afaik m-audio didn´t update this drivers for pci - only pci-e. do a search for m-audio in the forum - there are a few posts about it.
