hecker
I believe the application named Onyx can fix this issue. Also restarting the computer may help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84297-trash-issue/#findComment-598367 Share on other sites

Onyx is a pretty cool tool. another way: terminal: sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/* EDIT: (is this more 1337?) Basically the same thing Onyx does in the background, but yes it is definitely more 1337. smorf
maybe one more hint... if these files in the trash are on another volume (in my case they were)... even osx terminal did not help, it had trouble with the path length and some characters. FIRST of all empty the trash in osx to be sure that the next steps don´t leave any garbage on your disk. boot linux. if not installed, use a live cd, such as knoppix or ubuntu. become root (su - or sudo su - ) then check where the volume is mounted, if its not, mount it (writeable). move to the mount point of the volume with the faulty trash folder then remove the content of that trash folder using "rm -rf .Trash/*" reboot and be be happy. ergosteur
Hi, i have a similar problem (I think). In the trash, I have a file called "␀␀␀õ␀␀.␀␀". Emptying the trash never seems to get rid of it. I have managed to remove it by opening the Trash and using "Get Info" on it. But the next time I open the trash window it reappears. The rm -rf trick doesn't work (So i assume Onyx won't work either; downloading it anyway).
