Kay T
Hello friends! I have a feeling that there's something wrong. As I think, after kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions the file Entensions.kextcache should appear in the /System/Library. And guess what? No file appears at my system! Only Extensions.mkext file. Spotlight haven't found any kextcache file. What am I doing wrong? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83029-kextcache-file/ Share on other sites

SticMAC™
Yip, its a 10.4.xx relic! You can however create one manually then the commands will work but Leopard use other cache folders to speed up the start sequence. It works the same as the gfX EFI strings, they've figured it faster to read txt files than to load a bunch of files from caches! go-figure, all the way back to DOS reading text files!! SticMAN Leo does not generate that file. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/83029-kextcache-file/#findComment-590247 Share on other sites
