socal swimmer
should be great! look through the tutorials section, there is a guide for your motherboard I think... The 8600GTS should work with 10.5.2. Right now, with 10.5.1, you must use beta drivers from 10.5.2 to get it to work.
weaksauce12
You can save $10 on your motherboard by buying it through Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813121060 Your power supply is fine; you have almost the same hardware I have and mine runs great. The Apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse will work fine with the D-Link Bluetooth adapter (I'm using that combo with the keyboard, as a matter of fact), but you should get a cheap USB keyboard if you want to access the BIOS since the Bluetooth keyboard not recognized until OS X boots. I can't comment on the video card other than you may not get stable results until 10.5.2 is actually released. Other than that you look like you're about to save yourself $3,
ToTheioTragi
can someone give me some info about the setup's mobo? are there disk speed problems? i also need to know if firewire and ethernet are working without flaws.
nate256
well from what i have been reading it works very very well and stable!!! i would assume the firewire would work casue that is an apple thing and i believe it is copyrighted by apple but i could be wrong. you can always get a firewire card for your pci slot! ethernet might not work idk on my current hackintosh it didnt but i use WiFi and i didnt bother fixing it. might be a simple patch for it. sorry i cant help you too much i know with the sound you need a patch but it isnt very good audio with it so it is best to get a 5.1 usb sound card (like 5 bucks) idk what you mean by disk speed. so sorry if you want to explain that i will try and help or maybe i am just clueless :] so seems solid!! very stable from what i hear too!!!!!! ToTheioTragi
hello, thnx for your answer! firewire is pretty important for me because i plan to use the machine for audio purposes and my audio interface connects via firewire. ethernet again is really important because i have all my files stored on a server and i don't intend to use wifi. so to summit up onboard sound is not an issue for me because i will use my firewire audio card but full functionality of ethernet and firewire are crucial. about the disk speed now. i think my eye caught some xbench marks that gave results of bad disk speed because of the bad axe 2 motherboard. if i am wrong well that's great but i thought you might knew more. about when are you expecting to have the system up and running? it would be great if you could give us a "review". cheers! nate256
Hey i found out that with the latest BIOS you will be able to have a 100% working ethernet port!!!!! so im guessing the firewire will work fine but if you need more you will need to buy a firewire card too. im hoping to get it with in the next 2 weeks but i am really un sure about graphics cards! idk i want an 8800 gts but dont know if it works so i will post a review and maybe a video when im done and having running!!!
