Realtek AC97 built-in Audio

Hello All,


I've been trying to get my audio to work, I've been all over the net to find a solution first but I have no luck.



I'm running XxX_OS_x86_10.4.11 and it runs great no errors that I can see. It just have no audio.


Here are the specs of my PC



CPU Support = CPU support 0.09 & 0.13 process. Intel CPU, can be up to PSC P4P 3.2G/800Mhz, ICP 2.8G/533Mhz,

CPU Supply = Socket 478

Motherboard = GA-8S661FXS

Chipset = SiS 661FX / 963

FSB/System Bus = 533 / 800 MHZ

DRAM (MAX) = 2 x DDR400 DIMM (2.0GB)

Video = AGP 8X slot x 1, Int VGA

CD/DVD/CDRW = DVD/Combo/DVD+/-RW (optional)

USB = Front x2 / Rear x2 USB 2.0

Sound Chip = AC97 6-channel

LAN Chip = 10 / 100 M

Power = 220W with PFC

Case Size = 275(D) x 184(W) x 160(H) mm

K/B = PS/2 interface (optional)

Mouse = USB interface, optical (optional)

Other Function = MIC IN and AUDIO OUT Front IEEE1394 port 6 in 1 card reader SPDIF in/out

Hi I have a gateway MX3230 with Vinyl AC'97 VIA Tech, I tried installing a few drivers but have no sound. The system profile sez no audio, but the system preference show audio input and output but sound not working. any one know of a fix.I also tried the azaliaaudio package. heres a screen shot. Running XxX10.4.11 dual boot with XP.
