scousi
I have a simple question I hope someone can answer. How do I get the DMA or PIO mode of mounted drives in OSX86? For example, I want to know if my HD is operating in DMA mode 3,4 or 5. Can I get this with ioreg or system profiler? Thanks. scousi
Ok thanks. I will be more patient. I did search but it seems that people are using benchmarks to see if their HD is faster or slower. scousi
Is this for beige box or Mac hard drives? I know how to on WinXp. I just want to know of to find out which mode my HD is in while I'm booted in OSX86 on Intel PC. There must be some kind of *nix command or MacOS command to find out. I managed to possibly getting a ATI SB400 ATA IDE driver working in OSX86 but I want to check if it the HD is in UDMA or not or PIO. Hopefully UDMA!
