Zero0000
Hi, I've been trying to install JaS 10.4.8 Intel-AMD SSE2-SSE3 + PPF1-PPF2, and It will not recognize my Internal Hard Drive. I tried to install OS X to my External HDD and it won't start up, it gets to the boot screen and the thing locks up. I'm using a: Make Model = Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747 Processors = AMD Turion64 x2 Mobile Technoligy TL-56 @ 1.8 Ghz Memory = 2 Gb DDR2 RAM Hard Disk = TOSHIBA MK2035GSS ATA CD/DVD Drive = (8x) HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N Graphics Card = ATI Radeon X1200 (128mb) Integrated If anyone can help me get this working, i would be very grateful. hecker
Could it be that you have more than one unit connected to the same IDE cable? You could also try manually configuring your HDD in the BIOS (turn off the auto mode). Also, I had the best results setting my drives to MASTER only (via the little jumper at the back of the drive). hecker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81313-please-help/#findComment-576891 Share on other sites
Uzelth
I'm suffering from the same problem - same hdd and dvdram model. There's no settings in the BIOS for auto modes and the pins are removed on the HDD (setting it to master). I can get as far as choosing destination, disk utility only picks up the DVD-R though. My laptop is a Toshiba A210-11P: - AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-56 1.8GHz - 2048Mb RAM - TOSHIBA MK2035GSS ATA - 8x HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/81313-please-help/#findComment-650721 Share on other sites
ADoNuT333
The JaS dvd does not have the kexts required for it to recognize the sata hard drive. You need to search google or this forum for the SB600 southbridge kexts. Then you will need to find a way to inject the kexts into the install dvd. I also had this same problem.
