jarobata
I have a gigabyte DS3L and I know that having EFI and Vanilla is good but what do these mean and I read somewhere that somebody did something to get vanilla going. I also heard something about natit. Any insight is appreciated.

Ugh I don't remember things being this complicated when I did my 10.4.9 install.. I of course have searched but those terms are mentioned so much its not easy to find explanations on what they are. Deviant0ne
EFI Natit Vanilla = Unmodified Apple Kernel. Most OS X86 (if not all releases until PC EFI) need a modified Kernel in order to run correctly on non-Apple hardware, i.e. a hackint0sh. Now, thanks to EFI, hackint0shes are able to run unmodified Apple Kernels and kexts.
