I thought the question was on how to convert an .ISO to an .IMG file, so why is everyone talking about flash drives? This is very simple. All you need is an ISO editor like UltraISO and a mounting tool. Just mount the .ISO file, and open up UltraISO. Choose "Make CD/DVD Image...", select your virtual drive, then check the option ".img (CloneCD)" and click "Make". There, you have successfully converted an .ISO to an .IMG file. I actually do this all the time to convert Alcohol .MDF, MDS files into .ISO files just for the sake of simplicity (and I hate Alcohol). ISOs are the standard, yet everyone insists on using some obscure format or another like .UIF (used by MagicISO) and .DAA (used by PowerISO), seemingly just for the sake of annoying me. However, I'm not sure if CloneCD .img files will be compatible with Apple Disk Utility but it's worth a try.
