Due to my Laptop having the horrible Atheros 500xX card, I was wondering if anyone can advise me on a working usb wlan stick (pref b/g) that works with leopard.

I was looking at the ASUS WL-167G, however someone on NewEgg stated it was not compatible.

TIA for any advise :)

WL-167G works fine, although it's a pretty crappy wireless card (I get loads and loads of packets sent/received with errors, which need retransmission and slow the connection down hugely) It's OK for web browsing, and that's about it. I'm told this problem is endemic in USB wireless devices, which might be because most of them have crappy Ralink chipsets like this one ;)

But then again, that's why it works in OS X too. A mixed blessing, one might say!

Thank you so much for the replies.....

Thanks for the advice on the card and to be honest with the atheros I don't know which exact version I have on my acer 3680-2249. My first one had 5005G which was a breeze to use in 10.4. But after getting a refurb I haven't been able to figure out which version I have.

Is there a way to find this information with OSX or Darwin -v boot?

Get ANYTHING with a RALINK chipset it is the least hassled usb wireless!!
