Sav
Hi, I'm collecting clues on this board to build my own hackintosh. My goal is to run pro applications, like final cut, wich take advantage of some video chipsets with a lot of dedicated ram. The mac pro configurator on the apple store can let you choose between the geforce 7300 gt with 256 mb or ati x1900. This cards are quite old and I'd like to buy an nvidia card. So I have to choose between the GeForce 7950GT or some 8800. The first one is cheaper, but is from the past generation. Using NVinject does the system use the full power of the newest chipset? Sav
I know that only the 8800 chipset is working, but I would like to know if the pro applications will run faster with a newer card. hecker
That will depend on the application. Some make more use of the CPU and vice versa. Check the software requirements first to see if an upgrade makes sense.
