df1: Journaled name: "Leopard" (60gb)

Initialized trought the leopard installer Disk utility

Installed Leopard with:

EDIT: starded with -v give me KERNEL PANIC just before the Ati Video driver, or something like that

but I already tried installation With and Without any video drivers :censored2:

EDIT2: Just installed Jas 10.4.8 without drivers and everything now works, except for the video drivers :censored2:

how to make the Ati sapphire x1950Pro 512 Pci-E working on 10.4.8??

only found driver for 10.4.10 or 11 from the great Bronya

any help?

thx and peace!

many thanks Bronya!

just tried them on a clean instalaltion of 10.4.8 jas

no drivers only intel and language

but don't work :(

tried to install but i got problems with the installer,

so i used Pacifist to open pkg and install and overwrite files

then rebuild permission..

and nothing!:D

at the new reboot got an error of the bad installed file:

NATIK.KEXT

and nothing changed in my system display card :P

just simple minor little gfx glitches

maybe I'm doing something wrong in the installation?

(second time tried deleting extension and recopying the new one extracted but still same error)

many thanks for your help!

If problem install , then you download here script driver.

Unpack 1048.zip and go to in folder and open load.command , write password in terminal and wait end install.

Read this: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...;p=561933

it explains how to get leopard 10.5.1 started to get your bronya driver installed. Its most unfortunate that it doesn't work out of the kalyway dvd box right away, but with the instructions there you should be able to start leopard and get bronyas drivers in place.

Hi,

my systems has the following specs:

Asus P5B Deluxe

Intel@2CPU 6420 2.13GHz

Geforce 8500 GT 256MB DDR2

JMicron JMB36X Controller

I followed the instructions from the previous threads and I get the Kalaway version installed, but when I try, after the installation, to boot, it won't

Can someone tell me all the things they changed in the Bios settings and other things they might have done to get it to work. I am new to this, so please be patient ;-)

Thx

ehy somebody can shutdown properly the system with p5b?

I don't have the iATKOS or Kalyway, so I have not updated to 10.5.1 and I have not installed PC EFI yet (I used BrazilMACs install guide several months ago) but I ran into the stupid shut down problem as well. As a matter of fact, it was also an issue in Tiger too.

As far as I know, there is no official solution and I don't like the idea of shutting my computer down while it is still running (with nothing on the screen) so... I choose restart instead of shutting down and turn my computer off by pressing the power button once when the computer gets back to the BIOS post. (This way, there is no way for your OS(s) to get messed up because of improper shut downs)

I have a couple problems myself though...

1. Adobe programs crash immediately when they attempt to startup. (I just ran Adobe Updater to get all updates today but that did not fix the problem.) Will this be fixed if I install using iAtkos or Kalyway?

2. My case's top USB ports do not work. (TT Armor - Mobo is P5B Deluxe)

Thanks in advance guys!

PS: Do you guys seriously have to keep the OSX DVD inside your drive at all times with Kalyway or iAtkos? (I don't with my current BrazilMAC patched install)

i just downloaded the kalyway dvd and burnt it . checksum matched.

i have a

p5b-deluxe

c2d 6400

2gb ram

80gb sata harddrive

and a ide cd drive

when i put the dvd in i get the "System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found"

thing. i'll try and burn it again slower but apart from that is there anything i should know. as far as i'm aware my bios options are correct.

You need an SATA optical drive

the problem is the CD DRIVE not recognized by the Jmicron controller

you can:

Get a SATA CD DRIVE

Get an ATA USB ADAPTER and connect your CD DRIVE to USB (this worked for me)

hope this help

peace!

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. Last night I got my OSX running on my P5B deluxe with Kalyway 10.5.1 sse2/3 disk. Thanks to this thread for all the good advice.

I wanted to say that it worked for me with the latest Asus Bios 1216 or 1226 whatever it is. So you are not limited to bios 1101 or whatever.

I have a few questions that I can't figure out.

1.) anyone test firewire working on the p5b?

2.) anyone get a second video card running on it?

I have a Geforce 6xxx series pci video card and OSX refused to boot with it installed. When i removed it, everything came up fine. I really would like this second card to run with my 3rd monitor.

Any suggestions would be of great help.

Thanks again,

cGar

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place

My specs are as follows:

  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (@ 2.13GHz)
  • Vanilla Asus P5B mobo
  • Asus EN7600GT SILENT 256MB (Nvidia)
  • Seagate Barracuda (ST3320620AS) 7200.10 320GB SATA NCQ 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache

I'm currently downloading iATKOS 1.0i, and I have the PPF file to upgrade the iso to 1.0ir2. Do I have a hope in hell of getting OSX to run (and detect all of my hardware)?

Thanks in advance :)

well painless and simple, i tried to install leopard in my Pc since the first one DVD, i tried kalyway 10.5, brazilsmac patched by me and by others, toh rc1 e rc2, iAtkos 1.0 and 2r1.0, now the best in the moment Kalyway 10.5.1 SSE2 SSE3.

ive got a hundred problems.

This time Install seemed to go OK ( like so many others times ).

but when i reboot ( "vanilla -v -f" )

stops with last line

/usr/sbin/ocspd[96]: starting.

and when i reboot ( "-v -f" )

stops with last line

/usr/sbin/ocspd[61]: starting.

P5b Premium

E6750@2.66

2X1Gb@667

Nvidia 8600 GT 256MB

320GB SATA II (Vista) ( red connector )

120GB SATA II ( trying leopard ) ( red connector )

80GB IDE ( backup )

DVD-Rw IDE ( with IDE-SATA converter ) ( black connector).

DVD IDE

black connector = Jmicron :P

so i've tried almost all things that people said at foruns over the internet ( change connectors, disable and eneble something in BIOS, disable LANs, Disable Jmicron after install, install many ways, ...) what can cause this Error??, i think with this answer i can find a better way to solve this problem....

if anyone has solved this same problem or have some clue.

please add me.

thanks in advance

Have installed Kaly Leo on my IDE HDD connected to JMicron. Working fine as well as installation. BUT I cant boot it, gives me Apple.com.boot.plist not found error. Only way is to use installation dvd with "rd=diskXsY" command. No bios setings help. Leo cfg: vanilla, guid. Tried mbr also with the same result.

I saw posts telling all fine with jmicron's hdd (in opposite to dvd), e.g.

Leo installed on Jmicron Ide disk works perfectly

If anyone with subject mobo can do boot with ide drive without sata connectors?

  • 3 weeks later...

I've done already everything posted here, but I cant get it to work... I've setting up tiger since 10.4.1 so I know what Im doing but... this time I give up here

If I select GUID then install fails at nearly 100%, you know the yellow triangle... If I choose MBR instead installer will complete but leopard wont boot... I even have to let the dvd inside the drive so It could boot darwin, but it freezes anyway...

Specs are:

Intel Q6600 core 2 quad

asus p5b deluxe (no wifi)

ati x1600 (works on 10.4.8 w/natit)

bios is set up as described here...

any hints? tankyou

Ok, so I did a Google and found out the board has the RTL8187L chip. Still can't get it to work though. Not sure if that might be because I installed the B driver first, although I did uninstall that.

I have searched on here but can't find out how to get it working. Does it require any fiddling or do I just install the drivers without modifying them?
