HEllo,

I finally got OS X to work on my PC . I have used the tiger-x86-flat.img. I have loaded it on to an extra HD. In order for me to use OS X, I have to disconnect the HD with XP. How do I go about getting a screen to choose what OS to use with out disconnecting any HD's? Please help!!

Also: When I am in OS X can I update my OS X by using the update software? and how do i get a higher resolution? My PC has the SSE2 do I need to put any patches into it and if I do how do I go about it or can i use update software?

PLEASE HELP

Thanks

What I did was install acronis disk director suite on my windows hd. Once you do that and restart, you can install the acronis os selector from start-programs-acrois-etc. Once you install that, when you boot, you'll have a choice to run acronis os selector on startup. Just choose "Unknown OS" and you're good to go.

I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I have my winxp on the primary drive and osx on a slave drive.

I hope this helps.

Acronis works fine for me. It does mess up after a little while, but my computer lets me hit any key and boot into Windows. Once in Windows I can reinstall Acronis and it will work fine after that. If I was you I would try it. Just make sure to make the Rescue Media when you install Acronis. As long as you have that you should be fine

what worked for me fine is the bios integrated boot selector...

when i hit f11 i can select which drive to boot from, if i choose my maxtor it boots osx and if i choose my samsnug it boots xp and with the dvd-rom it boots linux...

i don't know if this is supported by every bios though...

hope this helps!

Today I tried Chain0 metod but it don't work.

The botloader ignore it and boot windows. But if I go to the advance boot menu I can select OS X but it throws me back too windows.I version 10.1 I was using darwin bootloader because OS X installed it on my C drive and I coud select windows or OS X.But in version 10.3 I can only boot OS X.I don't realy want to use acronis bootloader because it is not nice.I have some experience with linux so I will maybe try GRUB.

GAG (Graphical Boot Manager) http://gag.sourceforge.net/

You can dd img into a 1.44MB disk or burn in CDROM, and reboot to load.Gag is installed in MBR and you can add and allow to boot your Windows, Linux, Mac OS X partition, etc.

And of course, its free software :)

GAG http://gag.sourceforge.net

Current version: 4.5d

GAG (initials, in spanish, of Graphical Boot Manager) is a Boot Manager program. It's loaded when the computer is turned on and allows you to choose the operating system you want to use.

Its main features are:

* Allows boot of up to 9 different operating systems.

* It can boot operating systems installed in primary and extended partitions on any available hard disk.

* Can be installed from nearly all operating systems.

* GAG doesn't need its own partition. It installs itself in the first track of the hard disk, wich is reserved for these kinds of programs. It can also be instaled on a floppy disk, without using the hard disk.

* It has a timer to boot a default operating system (selectable by the user).

* The configuration menu can be protected with a password.

* The program works in graphic mode (needs a VGA or better graphic card), and has a lot of icons.

* Hides the primary partitions which allows the user to have instaled more than one DOS and/or Windows in the same hard disk.

* Allows a password to be put on each operating system, denying access to non-authorized people.

* Allows the boot manager text to be translated to all languages.

* Can exchange disk drives, allowing to boot from the second, third... hard disk operating systems such as MS-DOS.

* Has the SafeBoot system, that allows to boot your hard disk even if GAG is accidentally overwrited.

* Supports a great variety of keyboards (QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ and DVORAK keyboards).

* Fully support for hard disks up to 4 terabytes (4096 gigabytes).

* Full version and free software (distributed under GPL licence, with source code)
