I downloaded this file and burn it to a DVD, but my laptop keeps restarting after loading a lot of files of Darwin i think. I'm totally new to this, and I have also read many tutorials, but it's too complicated to a newbie like me. Anyway, after reading, I found out that maybe because my laptop Dell D600 (which is pentium M 1.6Ghz) is SSE2.

Could anyone please help me figure out how to get it work correctly? If the version I downloaded doesn't support SSE2, is there any solution for my laptop?

Thanks for reading.

Hi,

it works on my SSE2 P4 computer, but it is quite slow compared to Tiger 10.4.11.

The install DVD worked on my PC but only after disabling the integrated Realtek network.

Try to see on which file it crashes and restarts. Check the MD5 checksum of the downloaded file and check the burned DVD.

succes, AntarcticP

If the DVD works on another computer, the disc would be OK. Forget about the MD5 checksum then.

MD5 checksum is used to check if there were errors during downloading.

I guess there will be a problem with some of your hardware (like my realtek LAN).

Start the DVD and just before the DVD starts loading press F8.

Now type "-v -f" without the quotes. Press enter and the Leopard DVD starts.

You'll see all the kexts loading and you will see the errors. In this way you'll probably find where Leopard stops running.

Not all motherboards are supported, so maybe you're not lucky.

grtz
