Has anyone ever looked into tweaking the 570m bios to work with the 8600m kext? Maybe reflashing it with a modified 8600m bios?

This *should* be doable, but I am not a BIOS guy. Better to ask the nvinject forums since gotoh could potentially help....

using Kalyway 10.54 - Plain Vanilla Kernel - Installation flawless & straightforward .

Working Vesa 1024 x 768 Driver + Wireless 54 G (OS recognized as native Airport ) .

It would be great if I could get the Fx 570 M to work !

Not Working - Sound

T61 using Kalyway 10.5.2

all std ticks by default, except removed the extra languages

X3100 - perfect - qe/ci , 1280x800 display

LAN - not working

Wifi - not working

Bluetooth - perfect

Firewire - perfect

As this is a work laptop, I cannot change any components from std, but looking to buy a lan card/wifi dongle that could work.

Any suggestions?

my T61

Thinkpad a/b/g wlan working perfectly

sound - half works.

140 m graphics. nope.

kalyway 10.5.2 + 10.5.3 update w/ vanilla 9.3 kernel

ahh nice, I've got sound working too, now if we could just figured out this video problem we'd be set. It seems like it so close to working, boots all the way up, no errors and bam black screen.

intel wifi no chance

atheros wifi works if you change devid in IO8.....kext. i saw on some forums that is posible to have one on pci-e mini on lenovo t61

another solution is wifi or lan on usb port

Are you talking about 140 card or 570M.

Im highly interested about a solution for full support for my 570M graphics card.

If you have any news , keep us informed.

I've got the 570m but the 140m has the same problem, so I think a solution for either one will ultimately fix both.

I need some help. I'm starting with the Kalway 10.5.2 Install CD. The install went flawless with the Sleep Kernal. But I can't get the wireless to work at all.

I have the Thinkpad Wireless card and I followed the instructions, but it's not working.

I had it working once before when I started with the Kalway 10.5.1 CD, then did the upgrade to 10.5.2.

Any thoughts on what I can do?

Thanks.

dude dude dude.... add the string to ur IO80211family.kext and then if that doesnt work after restarting and repairing permissions, then u might have to change ur en1 to eno in networkinterfaces.plist. if u have no idea what im talking about...well im sorry. im a bit drunk

I have the 168c,1014 added IO80211family.kext and it's save. I've rebooted several times and confirmed the change is there.

After restarting, the OS doesn't see the card. networkinterfaces.plist also doesn't show the Atheros card, just the Firewire. You mentioned repairing the permissions, but I'm not sure what needs to be repaired

Thanks for anything you might be able to provide?

EDIT:

Using this process, I have the machine seeing the card:

sudo -s

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros.kext

chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros.kext

touch /System/Library/Extensions

shutdown -r now

from my post in july 08 in the kalyway 10.5.2 thread:

finally after a weekend of slaving away and scouring these forums, have a working leopard install on my Thinkpad T61 using kalyway 10.5.2. used the vanilla kernel only and checked both video drivers for the intel chip in the install customization. everything else was default.

System Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz

RAM: 2 GB

HD: Hitachi 120 GB

Audio: Intel HD Audio, AD1984

Graphics: Intel GMA X3100

Wireless: Thinkpad 802.11 a/b/g Wi-Fi

Used following guides:

Wireless: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=238508 (still have to connect using network diagnostics every time i boot up)

Ethernet: http://techresearchinfo.blogspot.com/ (edit 10/9)

Video: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=763465 (did not have to use sleep hot corner trick)

Audio: http://0xfeedbeef.com/osx86/ (headphone jack still not working, have not tested audio inputs)

Battery Meter: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=114105

also installed fingerprint reader from upek: http://www.upek.com/mac/download/

Biggest issue I still have is brightness control. It automatically sets it to the highest and drains my 6 cell battery in 1-1.5 hours. any fixes?

i still have issues with the webcam (only works when i take my account picture, never for apps like ichat, skype, photobooth etc)

Sleep also not working properly

hi gus, I am working on Intel82566MM driver on my Hackintocsh (lenovo T61p).

Maybe two weeks (less or more), I can post the first version that can be working.

So far I can init the hardware and got the mac address.

I am working on the interrupt handler and output packet.

To get detail please access my blog http://techresearchinfo.blogspot.com/.
