[uk] iPhone as iPod Touch?

I'd like to know if i buy an iphone from e.g. uk apple shop, i live in greece, it's gonna be v1.1.2 with the new not-yet-unlocked bootloader.. corrently? yes..

 

so.. i must wait until it's bypassed..

 

my main question is..

 

Can i use it like an ipod touch until then?

yes you can coz u can jailbreak and install applications on it... music.. cam... internet... games..

 

but it's not practical to buy an iphone for now and u won't be able to use all of the features especially calling... so better wait until the possible unlock before you purchase 1

You have to downgrade to 1.1.1, you can jailbreak it and use it as an iPod Touch.

It is worth waiting? Really don't think so. Buy the 1.1.2 and use it as an iPod touch. Later, it will become unlockable.
