elmetal
Hey yall I recently {censored}ed up my laptop to the point where it wont stay on for longer than 10 minutes (see: water on motherboard) Alright, the question now comes: What is the best laptop to get, to have everything fully working on either tiger or leo? The catch is: the laptop has to be affordable (under 600) By everything working I mean sound, wireless, and all that. I can deal with standby being buggy and card reader not working. but wireless + sound = must. elmetal
not necessarily. Either 10.4.x or 10.5.x works for me. I don't know the major differences but either one will do honestly. frizbot
elmetal, look into the Panasonic Toughbooks, Twinhead Durabooks, or other ruggedized notebooks. Not for OS X compatibility, but to resist hardware damage. GTR-33
Are there any laptops that are highly compatible in the $500 range? I want to replace my old G3 ibook so I can run 10.5 on it but the only ones that I see that are as compatible with 10.5 as a real Mac also cost just as much. If this is the case I might as well just buy a new MacBook and have it run both 10.5 and XP flawlessly out of the box.
