Will V2 allow us to boot in 64bit mode?

Thanks. Keep up the good work!

As far, as I know - Most machines run Zephyroth's 1st DVD without any problems in 64bit's. Just remove -legacy from com.apple.Boot.plist and check it out for yourself. If it won't work You can always add it back.

Ok... i have downlaoded the iso dvd file and i have tried booting it natively. I get a problem while choosing the hard disk , as I can not see any harddisk in the disk utility option. I already have a tiger uphuck 10.4.10 installed on one of my partation, i have on one partation xp and the 3rd one is for leo.

When i load the dvd by native boot, it goes in verbose mode and then starts the installation, in which i get stuck at the harddisk selection point. Is there any way of getting the harddisk to show in the diskutility? I have even tried the terminal diskutil list thing and still there also i only see my dvd rom and nothing else.

I have even tried using VMWare to load the disk the same way i tried installin Tiger. While loading it gives errors such as shown in the pic or at times it just loads at the pink installtion screen and gets stuck. I found out why it get stuck is that my dvd rom gets locked for some resaons an d i cant even open in in my computer.

Is there anyway of installing Leo on my system pls advice

System Spec:-

Dell 1501

Amd Turion 2 x 64, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB Harddisk, ATI XPress 1500 Graphic card

Thanks....

Ok ... Rev2 is in a good way to be released soon.

I've added:

- NVinject 0.2.0 for both Desktop and Laptop cards.

- Latest AppleNForceATA by MeDevil is added too (some error messages but boot process is faster and my drive is working correctly)

- ApplePS2Controller (tested and approved)

- Quicktime 7.3.1 and Security Update now installs during Mac OS X installation process (cpuids are applied)

To save some space I will not add iTunes 7.5 and RDC updates because they doesn't need any cpuids to be applied.

I will package some drivers for ATI and try to solve a problem which isn't really one :

In Rev2 at the end of the installation process it tells that the installation fails because the installer cannot make the partition bootable.

In fact the partition is bootable and all goes fine, but ... I don't want that error message in Rev2 !

The error is that when the script execute "bless -device "$dev" -setBoot" it returns "could not find IODeviceTree:/options" (prolly because of EFI) but as the partition is made bootable via fdisk ... it's ok

If someone has an idea to solve this little issue ...

Hey Zepyroth, is great to hear this awesome news! Will you release a ppf patch of Rev2 to apply on DVD ISO Rev1? I think it's better and faster to download!

Thank you!

Puttabong

The forcedeth driver seems to not handle multithreading correctly ... That's all I know.

I'm able to boot without "-legacy" only with kernel 9.1.0 but it's still necessary to boot with this flag with kernel 9.0.0.

In both case, I'm running Leopard in 32 bits.

A good way to know if you are in 32 or 64 bits mode is to launch GeekBench.

For the moment, I will focus on Rev2.

You know I'm alone and have only one machine to test ... so that's hard to release an ISO which is stable in all the situations.

As soon as I release Rev2, I will try to fix some broken things (at least the most annoying).

If Rev2 installs on my system, I'll be happy to help you in next releases. The only reason I can't help you now is because I can't run osx on my actual machine. My harddrive is sata running on nforce controller but the old version of medevil doesn't works. The new version of driver seems to work so, soon I'll can help you!

Thank you!

Trax: Why should Zephyroth do it? Don't you think that there are many other things already to do for him?

This is a Community, so give us your effort and write a FAQ, if you like to see one.

Greetings

It's just a suggestion and Zeph seems to like helping people right? He can simply send them to the FAQs for commonly occuring errors or else he have to dig through the thread for the answer.

thanks again Zephyroth  for the good work;

If there are people with the first DVD of Zephyroth  and facing PS2 problems, here is how you can solve them:

after installing Leopard , boot again from the install dvd and after choosing your language, choose "terminal" from the menu bar: then enter this command:

cp -Rf /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext  /Volumes/leopard//System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext

replace /Volumes/leopard according to the name you gave at your leo parttition

reboot and your PS2 mouse and keyboard will work without any problem

a FAQ is a good idea but I don't have time to do it.

You should start one with all tips presents in this thread and some others can help you !

I repeat ... I'm alone !!!

Hey, it seems GeForce 8600 GT are now supported ... Another thing to add to Rev.2. :D

I've just made a mpkg for NVidia cards which supports 8600 (prolly 8400 too), I will add it to Rev.2 if you think it's useful.

- Info.plist of GeForce.kext contains all dev-id listed in this file.

- All kexts come from 10.5.2 beta

- It contains NVinject GO and NVinject GO 512 for LAPTOP

- NVinject is 0.2.0 (NVinject-32 and NVinject-64 are just here for fun, I don't even know if it's needed and if it works :) )

I have the same problem, only shows DVD drive, not any partitions.

Zephirot.. it would be nice to have drivers for nforce5,audio for soundmax ad1988b (in tiger works with azalia only stereo output) and drivers for silicon image sil3132... this are necessary to installation on motherboard m2n32. Without these sil3132 drivers we must install on external usb disk.

Dear zephyroth,

Its so encouraging to see installation screen of Rev.2. My board uses AMD 690G chipset, which is very much into market now. It has ATI southbridge called SB600. There are some solution in other threads for this chipset, but if you could embed it in your Rev.2, many people like me will benefit. Thanks. Can't wait for your release.
