Reboot fixed and Time machine fixed

I really appreciate your work guys.

Here is my config:

asus P5B,

intel Core2Duo 2,33 (Conroe),

SATA HDD, SATA DVD,

Sapphire x1950 pro,

Bluetooth,

USB mouse, PS/2 and BT keyboards.

No EFI installed, I just don't need it for now.

Using paragon's NTFS driver to read/write my NTFS drives.

All is working fine with original ToH kernel 9.0.0 on Leopard 10.5.0 and several patches installed (Dmitrik graphics driver, fully supports 1950pro QE/CI and stuff) and taruma23's ICH8 driver to see all my SATA disks in IDE mode.

Except for: Problems with shutdown and sleep mode; Core 2 Duo is recognized as Core 2 Solo, but activity menu shows 2 cores and Xbench shows maximum productivity, so I don't really worry about this. Oh, I'm using kexts from BrazilMac's patch.

Kernel 9.1.0 (ToH): again everything is fine, XBench shows 5 more scores, C2D recognized as C2D, no problem here. BUT my Apple bluetooth keyboard NEVER recognized with this kernel. Shutdown is ok, hadn't tested sleep yet.

Vanilla kernel on 10.5.1 with EFI 8: all is OK, everything is working but my PS/2 keyboard which is annoying because I need PS/2 keyboard when Apple kb is freaking out. Well, I was warned about I'll loose PS/2 ports, tried to fix this myself and ended up with fresh Leopard ToH installation.

Still, as all P5B users - I don't have line in and 5.1 sound working, just simple stereo out.

use ApplePS2Nub

Its all in my signature. So far so good, and running stable.....well, as stable as the official 9.1.0 kernel can be.

I also edited the VIAATA.kext by adding the following to the plist:

0x31141095

This is the vendor-device ID for my Intel D975XBX 1 Sil 3114 RAID controller.

This allows the Blue SATA ports to function, however, they will function only at SATA 150 speed.

And you have to enter the RAID options in BIOS and enable concatenation for each drive.

Making sure that if you have one drive connected to the blue ports, it should be on the first port.

That's how the board was constructed, has nothing to do with the kext on this limitation.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Thanks Everyone!

My specs:

Asus P5W DH Deluxe

core2duo 6300

2 gigs of supertalent ram

7300 xfx gs nvidia running dual lcds (19")

500 watt power supply

3 sata drive internal

1 dvdrw drive ata

I used my tiger drive as the home base to get most of my work done on my leo drives.

1. Disk Utility to format drive GUID and make TWO partitions

------a. then I named the drives Leopard_1 and Leopard_2

2. installed efi v_7_guid_only on both drives

3. installed Brazilmac patched DVD

------a. then rebooted into tiger and ran the I_am_me post patch http://tinyurl.com/25lpvp

4. Booted into Leopard_1 with successful Brazil install

------a. mounted the vanilla Leo installer DMG I used to make my Brazilmac DVD.

------b. then opened terminal in sudo -s (don't know if this necessary) and typed

cd /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ DVD/System/Installation/Packages (enter)

open osinstall.mpkg (enter) as per http://tinyurl.com/2sn8xg

5. Deleted appleintelpowermanagement.kext and efiruntime.kext

6. Added

  • Sound=ACLInject.kext and AppleHDA.kext
  • Keyboard/Mouse=ApplePS2Controller.kext ACPIPS2Nub.kext
  • DVD ATA=AppleVIAATA.kext
  • Graphics=NVInject.kext
  • Others=AppleACIPlatform.kext dsmos.kext

7. Hit f8 after bios and selected my Leopard_2 in the Darwin bootloader and entered -s (this is single user mode) then <enter>

-----a. I then enter "/sbin/mount -uw /" <enter> this will make my Leopard_2 writeable for permission repair

-----b. I then enter "chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/* && chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/*

<enter> To repair all of my extensions' permissions.

-----c. exit and watch the vanilla leo start up!

-----d. Download 10.5.1 update only, not download and install, you select under Update "download only". This is good for saving the file for when your ready to install and to prevent things from going wrong on the download.

-----------then just install the update.

-----------repeat the permissions repair step and watch your 10.5.1 vanilla mac start up.

8. Use your computer to do things and stuff.tongue.gif

Inspiron 9300. Wireless works without edits (Dell truemobile) ethernet doesn't (Broadcom 440), even with tiger ionetworking.kext, Gfx (Nvidia 6800 Go) works with titan and adding ids to stock gfx kexts, sound (Sigmatel Stac97) works with appleac97audio.kext, using efi v. 4.

could you explain step by step how to get nVidia 6800go and Dell TrueMobile wireless works? I'm trying since 2 weeks ago and can't get it work fine. Broadcom 440 works fine with kalyway 10.5.1

Can you send me your kexts please?

Thank you in advance.
