    High Sierra Suplemental Update

Greetings all, I updated through the app store and got stuck. My problem was solved by booting with my High Sierra USB installer. Its important to note that my USB installer had all important kexts in "Other" folder. I made the mistake of creating and naming the folder 10.13 and putting everything in there. (on my boot drive). I'm not sure if Clover has since fixed the problem by adding 10.13 to the kext folders. I just wanted to point out that my problem was solved by putting all important boot kexts into the "Other" folder. Hopefully this helps a few people. Cheers. Prof. Synthology

X99-UD4 Random Reboot (El Capitan 10.11.2)

Greetings, It seems as though each update randomly fixes or further breaks the reboots. I installed the latest Clover (r3411), however the reboots are totally random. Sometimes it reboots after only 5 min, and other times after 30 min. Very strange. It might be the video card (GT740 FTW) but I have seen a stable boot without caches before. Lasted weeks without incident. Perhaps its the CPU. I even disabled SIP, but it seems to make little difference. I managed to finish this message, with standard boot (caches included). I'll keep looking closer for a definitive fix. Cheers, Prof. Synthology
  3. Greetings All, I have seen a few random reboots since Yosemite on this particular machine. However, I have seen far too many reboots after El Capitan 10.11.1 update, and even more after 10.11.2. I managed to get it running. It actually runs rather smooth. But I am getting far too many random reboots at any given time after updating. I'm lucky I got past this posting before rebooting on its own. As usual, I updated to the latest Nvidia Webdriver after updating. Contrary to what most people say, my setup along with the eVGA GT 740 FTW requires the webdriver or it won't boot. Sometimes it reboots while browsing online (Any browser). More than likely while watching YouTube videos. It can go from minutes to hours before randomly rebooting, but it depends on the usage. I have tried different SMBIOS to no avail. It seems like booting without caches helps, but not always (that's how I got this far to post). I also added RampageDev's X99 SSDT file for my motherboard (X99-UD4). I recently updated the BIOS to F12. It made no difference. I can't seem to find anyone else with this particular problem, and if there is, they seemed to have left the issue unresolved. If anyone has any info on this issue, please advise. My setup is in my sig below. Thanks in advance. Prof. Synthology

    10.10.2 Update - X99 - Clover

Thank you Sir. Worked stellar! I simply updated to the latest Clover, used the configurator to patch HaswellE and rock & roll. I do still use the VoodooTSCSync.kext (Properly set for 6 Cores) for good measure. Cheers! Prof. Synthology

    10.7.4 is OUT !

Everything's working fine on all systems overhere so far. That includes a Sager laptop and an old intel XBX1. Core i7 and i3 rig updated stellar. I always download and install (Combo) updates. Never straight from Software Update. Prof. Synthology

Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 is Available!

10.7.2 on all 64bit hackmacs - All Clear That includes: H55M-S2V (Corei3) X58A (Corei7) H67M (Corei3 Sandy) P45 (Core2) Laptop D975XBX1 (Core2) Of course, some kext backups were necessary for audio and ethernet. For Counterstrike players: You must remove - AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext From S/L/E/ and use kext wizard to repair and rebuild caches. Or you will have some nasty lag. I must note, graphics on Steam games seemed to get worse with this update. Heads Up. Prof. Synthology
  8. Greetings, For my own reference and others who installed Lion. Steam games, including Counterstrike, on some hackmac systems were playing incredibly laggy, with serious choppy graphics which deemed it simply unplayable. There are systems such as laptops and desktops that have this major Steam client problem. This fix solves it for both systems: Backup to a different location (optional), and remove from (System/Library/Extensions): AppleGraphicsPowerManagment.kext Be sure to execute Kext Wizard or your favorite cache utility to clear out all caches in the system and then reboot. Full running Steam and CounterStrike Source. Cheers, Prof. Synthology

    Problem with Counterstrike (9600m)

For anyone who researched and didn't find much on this subject, I found the source of the problem. This fix works on both desktop and laptop hack macs. Backup to a different location, and remove from (System/Library/Extensions): AppleGraphicsPowerManagment.kext Be sure to execute Kext Wizard to clear out all caches in the system and then reboot. Full running Steam and CounterStrike Source. Cheers, Prof. Synthology

    iChat Audio Problem

Greetings, I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem. Whenever I initiate a video chat (AIM) with another user, I can't hear them at all. However, when "they" initiate a video chat with me, I can hear them just fine. I should note that I am using iMic USB audio for my audio output. I tried with VoodooHda, and Legacy, but I still get the same result. I am also using Lnx2Mac for my ethernet. Please let me know if you encountered this problem and how you got around it if you did. Cheers, Prof. Synthology My system specs that give me this issue are on my sig. (Corei7 Rig). The sager seems to be just fine with iChat actually. Must be an X58 Core i7 thing.
  11. Greetings, I would like to know if anyone else is having problems with the framerate on Counterstrike for Mac. Since I clean installed Lion GM, I noticed that Counterstrike has severely terrible slow down and choppy graphics on my Sager (9600m). As a result of Counterstrike's unacceptable performance, I have refrained from installing it on my main desktop. I suppose I would like everything, including casual gaming, to function with Lion. If anyone out there has the same problem, and perhaps found a work around, I would like to hear about it. Thanks, Prof. Synthology Sager NP2096 Core2Duo P8400 (2.4Ghz) nVidia GeForce 9600m

10.6.8 update broke my NVidia 9600 GT

Greetings, I'm getting the same thing on one of my systems. I have an Asrock Conroe945GDVI. I think it has to do with the system recognizing both internal and external video. Meaning, it causes problems because of the GMA950 graphics and your Nvidia card. I am getting the exact same effect on my screen with the Asrock and 9400GT card. I get to boot without graphics using the boot flag( "GraphicsEnabler"="no" ) Hopefully somebody can address this issue. If I figure this out, I'll post back. I have been working on this for quite a while, but no dice. Prof. Synthology

    GraphicsEnabler\PCIRoot fail

Greetings, Did you ever manage to solve the Graphics Problem on this motherboard? I am working on a HP a1410n system that has the same motherboard and unfortunately the same problem. Erratic mouse movement and laggy performance when using graphics enabler or EFI strings. I am using a 7200GS / 7300SE and I've tried others to no positive effect. I think it has to do with the onboard GeForce 6150 LE or the nForce 430 (MCP51) Southbridge. Something might be conflicting with our PCI-E cards. Doesn't matter what I set on the BIOS. Same thing everytime. And there's no way to deactivate the onboard graphics in BIOS. It only lets you select primary display. My next step would be to update BIOS or find a mod. But there's nothing for these motherboards anymore. If anyone else has insight on this, please enlighten us. Prof. Synthology

Snow Leo for ASUS RAMPAGE III, GTX 460?

Greetings, For the specs you listed, you might want to head over to tonymac or myhack. Both are very good for i7 and NVidia graphics. It should be a good starting point to get a decent vanilla install. Good luck. Cheers, Prof. Synthology

    Reason 5 Crashing

It might be a while before enough people with AMD systems actually start using Reason 5. I happen to know quite a few people that have old AMD computers laying around and found new life in them by installing OSX86. Most of these people are home studio musicians that would love to have their Reason 5.0 working on more than the Windows side of their AMD systems. Still searching for a possible solution. As always, I'll report here when and if it is found. Cheers Prof. Synthology You have to use an auto-patch legacy kernel for AMD systems. These kernels patch IDs on the fly for AMD CPUs. It all depends on which version you have installed on your AMD system. Links below. It worked great on the latest iTunes for me. Hope it works for you. Cheers.
