Vultures
Hi! I own both a macbook and macbook pro, but I am looking for a laptop to use as my "STUNT" laptop, that is something I can use out in the field without worrying about damaging its gorgeous exterior, or crying if it falls off a desk. Here is what I need in order of importance: Dual Core CPU (prefer Intel) WORKING pcmcia slot in either Tiger or Leopard Working Sound Firewire Port QE/CI graphics (could be GMA950 or other working hardware) I need the pcmcia slot to work for capturing panasonic P2 memory cards, and I would like to have firewire and sound to make it convenient. Neither the MBP or the MB have PCMCIA, so this is really to fill a gap in the Apple product line. I have a lenovo n100 and I can't get the PCMCIA to work and the sound doesn't work either. Thanks! Vultures
Seems like the Acer Aspires (3680) have pcmcia working. Most seem to have sound working too. Do any of these model or similar model have firewire and guaranteed working pcmcia? Thanks! A single core would be fine too, I could always upgrade it myself I guess. cabegol
Guys, if you can find one, ACER 9410 powerful, cheap and 99% compatible (except for the integrated webcam). Sounds works 100%, I've tried all the inputs and outputs (including optical), and built in microphone. Cardbus slot working fully (I've been using firewire and external SATA thorough CARDBUS). Everything else working 100%, there is some models with Intel wireless....in that case, switch the mini pci-e card....for an atheros one. Good Luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/71862-dual-core-laptop-with-working-sound-and-working-pcmcia/#findComment-516359 Share on other sites
