Objection
Perhaps you overwrote IOUSBFamily.kext with an incompatible one during your upgrade to 10.5.1? Not sure if there IS an incompatible one... but perhaps try restoring that kext from the install DVD. Mardig
Thanks Objection, You are right, since I did a flat file install, I have no boot disk, though I do have a full copy of 10.5 on DVD even though I can't boot it. I'm looking forward to getting home tonight to try the recovery. I hope to try get the list of files that need to be restored from the 680i thread on page 10 or 11 and use MacDrive to restore them. Is it possible to use MacDrive to do this instead of terminal to do this. I will try tonight. Thanks again. udnan
Installed Leopard 10.5.0 using Brazilmac patched DVD on a Dell xps1210, ran post-patch. System worked fine with patched kernel. Installed efi_v5 and rebooted with vanilla kernel. System worked fine with vanilla kernel (10.5.0) Installed software update (10.5.1). After re-boot, the m/c starts up with only a blank screen. Tried re-installing AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from the patched DVD, which I had missed. The same problem persists. Any help would be appreciated. The laptop has IntelGMA950 graphics.
