I come from a software dev background but getting in to web dev.

And i dont have much experience with graphics. I hear Vector drawing is an important skill.

Any ideas where to start with this ? I mean i have had limited art classes in the past. But im fairly good at sketching.

don't even bother with freehand, adobe has pretty much killed it.

illustrator is the industry standard for vector graphics so it would probably help if you learned that. but you can be a web developer without ever having illustrator experience, especially if you do more on the programming side than design. i'm a web developer but personally i suck at graphics, so if the site i'm working on calls for anything more than a basic minimalist layout I hire a designer to come up with it. they focus on the design, i focus on the code, and i still get paid a decent amount
