ant, what info about audio, shows everest for you? here's mine:34340720us6.th.jpgit's taken from summary about pcbut, look, here's bmonkey's signature:Intel 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller Works (Only Internal Sound, No Headphones)82801H and mine is 82801HBM, maybe that's the difference, or he just made mistake?

ant - do you see what happens when you try playing with windows? :D oh, if disk util says 'volume cannot be repaired', i believe it cannot be repaired :P

lol I've messed up my other partitions playing with OS X too... almost lost all the partitions after my OS X one because fdisk tried to take them over.. >.> I had to fix it by manually inputting values for partition size.

I am trying DiskWarrior, but I'm not sure if you can boot it off a x86 PC, and there isn't a way for me to burn off .dmg in windows..

Have you tried DMG to ISO?

also Ultra Iso seems to support DMG, did you check? Or are you trying to burn a bootable DVD?

Thanks... but I ended up wiping my Leopard partition, restoring from Time Machine, and then restoring Darwin. Now it all works again! :D

On a side note, I really liked Vista 64-bit.... looking for drivers was very slightly harder, but otherwise everything else was good. Only my Dub-e100 rev. A (which is totally ancient... somehow Vista 32-bit could use the XP drivers) doesn't work right now :P

@undefined,

I don't think Midi setup matters... cuz mine looks like this too:

You should be more worried about audio settings. good luck!

dear audio succeeders - please let me know if you can manipulate this master channel in midi setup.

tell me something... are you willing to try another patcher? I mean, instead of ALC660, go to Taruga's thread and download ALC861installer. Delete AppleHDA.kext and ALcinject.kext and install ALC861... reboot.

I'm saying this, because my linux HDA dump shows me ALC660/861 sound codec and, before Taruga managed to fix the patcher, I got the same settings on system preferences.

If it doesn't work, delete AppleHDA.kext and ALcinject.kext and install alc660....

It's worth a try.

Whadaya say?

Hi !!!

I've updated to 10.5.2 :) , and i'm searching for the new 9.2 netkas/toh kernel with shutdown fixed & speedstep supported, on this page.

I tell you that because i can't access irc...because i'm in a university, with a university network...

So if someone could let it on the forum or just other than irc...please... :D

Thanks !

here's topic of #10.5 channel,

well, i probably tried every taruga's kext and the patcher with different dumps, ill try it again, maybe i did something wrong! and i'm aware of different name of sound codec since i tried all possibilities of my card's name

Hi people ;) ,

i think it's time to expose my problem after days and days of searches.

First : here's my laptop conf

ASUS F3SV (Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0GHz, 2048 DDR2, 180GB SATA Hard Drive, NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS,...)

My bios is version 203 with manuf. conf (i updated it because of some topics that i read)

1 - I downloaded Kalyway 10.5.1 and got it on a bootable DVD.

2 - I booted on the DVD with "F8" and "-x -v cpus=1"

3 - I went to diskutil (GUID partition with Mac OS (journalised) format called Macintosh

4 - Then i started to install with only both vanilla package and bootloguer GUI)

5 - the install went ok and rebooted my pc.

....Here's my problem...

When i boot with the dvd...the grey screen freezes

When i boot with the option "-x -v cpus=1 rd=disk0s2" I got the welcome screen loop (i read that is a known problem)

I did a boot with -s -x -v cpus=1 rd=disk0s2 "Graphics Mode"="640x480x32", the welcoming screen can't be shown because of the resolution, then i got my leopard desktop.

Then i decided to put the kalyway 10.5.2 comboupdate...everythings went ok with the install.

But nothing changed...I still got my known problems

I'm getting really lost right now and i'm praying for some help :(

Thank you all in advance.

jerome,

you should update bios to modded 207 like in my signature, it makes leopard work without any flags and it repaired welcome loop for me. if you don't want to update it, try repairing the welcome loop by booting with -s, then this code:

/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
passwd root

then your new password.

well, i dont really understand second part of your problem, but try booting without rd=disk0s2 and use -f.

i hope this helps, good luck

Big thanks for the reply and the solution, which fixed a lot of problems for me.

Here's the situation now : (I installed Leo4allv2)

1/ i got no mouse or keybord control when i rebooted my laptop (were working on the first boot)

2/ i got no sound (dont know if there's a solution yet)

3/ i got no wifi or ethernet (dont know if there's a solution too)

....

But i'm glad to see finally the desktop without the annoying flags ;)

1. i believe you have to reinstall leo without vanilla kernel, like they say here

2. look, there's a link in anatholics' signature, it should work for you

3. if you have intel 3945/4965 look here, if you have attansic l1 ethernet, it won't work, buy an usb card

well, i propably tried every taruga's kexts and the patcher with different dumps, ill try it again, maybe i did something wrong! and i'm aware of different name of sound codec since i tried all possibilities of my card's name

could you post your sound kext - AppleHDA and ALCinject - here? I'd like to give them a look.

I have a friend with the same issue on ALC660
