I got Leo running by using the TOH release QE/CI by nvinject , sound by alc883 package the only problem is wifi my card is detected and everything but leo cant turn it on i have a WG311T which is athereos 5001 and worked flawlessly in tiger here is a screen shot.

P.S. : About this mac says 1 core but activity monitor shows 2 so guys who get core solo shouldnt worry abt it nad i solved the boot problem by running the script BUT i was first installing on GUID thats why i couldn;t make it work after i installed on MBR worked flawlessly thanks ToH for the release will seed as soon as i get wifi up and going

screen.tiff

similar problems here. although my edits are in Apple Airport Broadcom whatever.kext and adding different lines, it does show up, same as you say yours does, but refuses to turn on.

does yours happen to list in NetworkInterfaces.plist? mine did at one point, but tried a reinstall, but not show up this time.

I have the WG311T and it's working perfectly in Leopard.

I followed the guide from this post ( http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=40317 ) - Don't miss the part where it says to get the IONetworkingFamily.kext from 10.4.8!

Good luck --

I had a similar problem, rebuilding my .kextcache by using the -f option on reboot fixed it. In my case, I added my wireless card after I installed Leo and it would seem that it wasn't properly detected until I forced a manual reload of the kernel extensions with that startup switch.

well, turns out i was editing the wrong kext file. i started out editing the Atheros one, then for some reason started editing the Broadcom kext after multiple installs of tiger. somehow it worked flawlessly without errors or kernel panics. so this time i edited the Atheros one again and now it shows up.

problem now is, i cant join wep networks. and since ive edited that kext file, the whole comp locks up randomly. anyone else had this problem?

If you search for that card in the 10.4.8 wiki there is a link to post about this. I solved it by using 10.5 IONetworkingFamily.kext and 10.4.8 IO80211Family.kext.

OK I found a way to turn it on. My wireless pci adapter is atheros AR5005G based, I added 168c, 1a to the atheros kext. After reboot it won't let me turn it on in network preference. So I click advanced button, in TCP/IP tab configure IPv4 I click 'off', came back out and click 'apply', voila, airport is on! on status bar still shows off but after reboot it will change to on.

New problem is, system will freeze after a while, I have to switch off the airport to avoid crash. Weird.

i cannot count, but i think its now on more than 10 machines < leopard.

i am on 10.5.6 now and installed all airport updates. i recognizes the card fully with mac-address/etc. i see it in dmesg :P wuuhuum BUT: i cannot turn the card on. nothing happens.

Parts of dmesg:

wl0: Broadcom BCM4324 802.11 Wireless Controller

AirPort_Brcm43xx: Ethernet address 00:0b:7d:21:60:df

AirPort: Link Down on en1
