I've got my mobility x1400 working in Leopard w/ CI/QE.

Had to edit the Info.plist in ATIRadeonX1000.kext to include the proper device ID.

Find the IOPCIMatch key and change one of the entries to match your device ID. I changed 0x71461002 to 0x71451002 (My device ID is 0x7145).

Worked like a charm, and no mouse tearing either, which I experienced under Tiger.

Also had to manually set resolution in com.apple.Boot.plist

Hope this helps!

Works great for me. Only problem I am having is slight mouse tearing when windows are open. Like the mouse turns into a block. Also, anyone know what Audio kexts are needed for the Dell E1505?

I had mentioned earlier that I wasn't getting any tearing, but apparantly I spoke a bit too soon ;) It's definately not as bad as it was under Tiger, but it's still there to an extent.

I haven't tried this yet on my Leopard install, but worked perfectly for me under Tiger; Use Mouse Locator with a blank image, should solve your problem. Links/instructs here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...amp;#entry89236

Worked amazingly. Mouse Locator works perfectly. Fixed all tearing whatsover. Thankyou thankyou thankyou

Thanks all above.

I'll try the mouse locator tonight.

And my laptop is dell inspiron 6400(T5500, 1G, X1400).

I modified the X1000 kext to add my device ID and can support the CI/QE, but mouse has tears.

The audio (sigmatel 9200), wifi, lan, card reader can not work.

Can anyone set the resolution on their screen? I have change the boot file and have had no success.

Same here. I've got 3 laptops with this stupid video card on them (why, oh why, did I upgrade from that GMA 950?), and I won't load OS X until I can get full res and QE/CI.

I have been able to get full ci/qe support, and full resolution (1400x1050) on my ibm t60. I had to edit the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist to get the correct resolution, as well as modify ATIRadeonX1000.kext to add my device id (7145).

I do not have the option of changing resolutions once I am in osx, nor can the LCD shut off when the machine is supposed to sleep. So this effectively makes sleep lock up for me with the x1400.

Has anyone had any success with x1400 or x1300 and sleep? (with leopard)

Cheers~

Hi,

I have a laptop dell inspiron 6400 with our famous x1400 and, really i couldn´t get the QE.

I did this id change 4175 but it looks like it is ignored   :D

I have leopard 10.5.2, what i did was in the installation i chose the ATiRadeon mobility x1000 series.

Perhaps should i reinstall without this driver from setup?

thanks

Download and install leopardgraphicsupdate:http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/leopardgraphicsupdate10.html

Now modify the kext agian. (Do not forget to repair presmissions before rebooting!)
