Hi, I'm thinking of buying an old Patriot 3070 Laptop, and I think it would be ok with my 10.4.6 install disk, but it has a VIA processor and VIA Unichrome graphics. Will I still be able 2 install Mac on it?

Nope, only machines with an intel-like architecture will work, meaning a SSE2/SSE3 Intel (some AMD's work, but need more tinkering about) P4 or above CPU. And an Intel chipset motherboard or one with a chipset that can be found in the HCL.

I wouldn't want to install 10.4.6, it is buggy in Hack-form, you at least need 10.4.7 (JaS) or 10.4.8 or higher.

Good luck, don't get THAT laptop with the purpose of trying to turn it into a OSX machine. It will not work.

Processor *might* work if it has at least SS2 (I don't have any facts to support what I'm saying, I'm just guessing). Graphic chipset won't work, that's for sure.

No SSE2, hence no chance of this working.

No accelerated video and other shortcomings, don't waste your time trying.
