Guide_Gnu
Hi, I have an Audigy I from Creative. It's an AC3 Audio (not AC97). I followed the tutorial about Sound (Fixing the Audio). I have modified the ICH5 AC97, and reload the kext. I have just an error about the signature of device. And the sound doesn't work. Why? Can you help me about this problem? Thanks in advance, and sorry for my "english". Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/668-creative-audigy-i-doesnt-work/ Share on other sites
slowdiver
i tried mine here too. dont work. (if you got a pci-soundcard, ac97 dont support pci-soundcards). someone mentioned to flash the cards rom with an apple rom - but then you cant use it in windows anymore. what onboard-sound do you have? batitombo
The audigy does not use that kext, that kext loads if you have an onboard inter ICH5. Ageve
Now I'm comfused. Did you ask about Audigy or integrated sound? The onboard sound should work, but there is no driver for Audigy yet. dogbert
AC3 specifies a digital sound format, AC97 specifies a hardware codec. Both are completely different standards. there are basically three types of sound devices which are reported to work with the generic drivers: 1. AC97 (onboard or on AMR riser cards) 2. HDA (onboard) 3. USB Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/668-creative-audigy-i-doesnt-work/#findComment-4265 Share on other sites

cyrana
Yes, it won't work, so don't bother wasting your time with it. In the future check the wiki for support before installing.
