Goopnzaopleopz9
Hi. With Leopard just days away, I've been wondering how OS x86 DVDs are made. I assume they start with an official OS X DVD, but what exactly is involved in modifying it to run on x86 hardware? Can anyone take a few moments to explain to me the process, or tell me where to look for this information? I tried searching this board, but the flood control and 4-letter-minimum filters are a pain. Forceman
Mainly the kernel is hacked so it can work on PC's, kernel looks to the bios for settings. dashaund
Looking forward to see Leopard working on my AMD 64 3200+ Venice For sure. Tubgirl 10.4.9 is running solid. I'm sure, since they have patches for the Leopord beta tests, that it won't be that difficult and we should see it soon. Good luck guys! I love what you're doing! Superhai
You need a hacked kernel, booter for legacy bios, new system.kext and other kerneldependent files. As a bonus you might as well add custom drivers and apps.
