My OCZ DDR2 6400 mem is running @ 3.0v

In fact before i bought it i did a little research and was told that this mem cant be run any lesser on my Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4. Wich was completely true.

It shows up red in Bios with this setting, but it's normal. I've been running it this way for a year now.

I hope you mean 2.0v, because 3.0v would fairly rapidly fry most DDR2.

My GeIL PC6400C4 is specced for 1.8-2.3v. It runs it's stock speed and timings (400MHz, 4-4-4-12) fine at 1.8v. It needs 1.9v to do 450MHz and pass more than a couple of MemTest86+ runs, which is 1:1 sync with my FSB at the moment. Not too bad :D

First Post:Like Loyx I have the OCZ Platinum Rev 2 PC2-6400. It's spec'ed for 1.8v to 2.1v though they offer a warranty for up to 2.2v. I'm new to overclocking but I've overclocked my E6420 from 2.13GHz to 3GHz at stockvoltage (1.35v) on a QuadGT board. I've set the ram to 2.1v (which I've read it really should be set at especially if doing basic overclocking) and running 4-4-4-15 (spec'd timings.) @ 1:1 ram/fsb. I'm defo gonna push timings down and and see how far I can go. I want to push the cpu higher, temps are fine using Arctic Freezer 7 Pro @ 3GHz (27c at normal room temp, 50c on load with Orthos.) I know I can go higher but I'm still a novice and want to learn more and play around with it a bit more. Still good ram from the looks of it and gets good reviews and the warranty aids you when the need to up the voltages arrive.
