cringemaster
I have been wanting to make an applescript that when launched will send me to the loginwindow. I have fast user switching enabled and this would be a better alternative to locking the screen completely using desktastic. Any ideas? I tried google but to no avail. ~pcwiz
I'm not sure but is there anything in Automator that lets you do that? A Nonny Moose
The only way I can think of this off the top of my head is to make the script log you out, which I don't think you want. Tell Application Finder log out end tell Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/65112-calling-someone-with-some-applescript-experience/#findComment-462539 Share on other sites
~pcwiz
Thats what I thought too, but I have another idea: What if you made a script to execute loginwindow.app? Would that bring up the loginwindow? Numberzz
Loginwindow is always running, it does not do anything, it would open an already open program. It does not work in Leopard by the way. Try and enable fast user switching, go in to the keyboard prefs in System Preferences and adding a key combination for "Login Window..." under the application Finder. That works with Shut Down, Restart, and Sleep. So it may work.
