skyhighmac
Intel. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64435-does-the-processor-matter/#findComment-456239 Share on other sites
ZeWarrior
of course it matters, on certain processors OS X wont boot because it doesn't support SSE2 or SSE3. Intels work better since apple uses Intel Processors. The best processor for a hackintosh would have to be the Core 2 Duo as it supports everything for the hackintosh and its fast. ~pcwiz
Stay clear away from AMD processors if you want to run OS X problem free. AMD processors can work with OS X but its a lot easier if you have an Intel processor. Rufus T. Firefly
Stay clear away from AMD processors if you want to run OS X problem free. Funny, I have no problems running OS X Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64435-does-the-processor-matter/#findComment-456555 Share on other sites
Lactobacillus P
Funny, I have no problems running OS X That is because you are running JaS. Tubgirl will not give a lot of problems either. The thing is that AMD chipsets are different from intel chipsets that Apple is using so the hardware of an AMD based system is by definition more different than an intel system. That is true. I will go Intel sometime and I'll have a true hackintosh. Still, AMD is a good system to have for OS X, nothing wrong with it its' the nforce410/430 that screws a lot of ppl Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64435-does-the-processor-matter/#findComment-456813 Share on other sites
~pcwiz
Theres nothing wrong with using an AMD processor. Its just that if you are looking to get a new system with OS X in mind, its better to get Intel anyway.
