So I was wondering, is it possible to break the DVD installation into a multi-disc installation to be burned to regular discs? Thank you. Azurael Posted September 23, 2007 Share Posted September 23, 2007 I'd guess it is, since Apple do multi-CD distros of tiger, and would probably just invlove some modifications to the install script. Surely it would be more hassle than the cost of a DVD burner's (about £15-20 these days!) worth though?! ~pcwiz Posted September 24, 2007 Share Posted September 24, 2007 You can split it into CDs but it involves modifying the installer script like Azurael said. You have to split the packages on the DVD onto multiple CDs and then redo an installer script for each disc. Again, like Azurael said, buying a DVD drive is hassle free and more time saving than splitting it into CDs. Another way would be for you to borrow an external DVD drive or you could also take your HD to a friend who has a DVD drive, install Mac OS X there, and bring it back.
