  1. Just thought I would share my kext. .ZIP comes with AppleHDA.kext & ALCinject.kext This is the latest AppleHDA from 10.5.7 update patched to Abit IP35-Pro ALC888 *It may work for other P35 boards, I haven't tested it File is attached, alternatively you can download it from here: http://www.evanborden.com/OSx86/AppleHDA.IP35Pro.10.5.7.zip AppleHDA.IP35Pro.10.5.7.zip
  2. VoodooHDA

Tried to compile the latest version from SVN with no luck. Tried two previous versions as well with no luck. All had errors during compilation. Removed float and another part to get to compile. Just could no get this driver to work with latest from SVN
  3. I have a non-Airport USB WiFi dongle (Zydas ZD1211b) and would prefer to not use the utility that came with the drivers. Is there any third-party application - other than the provided or the Airport utility - that offers the ability to scan and connect?
  4. Atheros AR5005(G)

I've tried installing the driver, but it keeps freezing my system upon reboot. It registers the driver ok - as in it loads it - but it will not finish booting. I thought maybe it was in the NetworkInterfaces.plist, so I adjusted it there to en1 - the airport port - but it froze still. It did recognize it when I installed it from the OS, but it installed to en3 which wouldn't be recognized by airport. Does anyone have any tips for me to get this card working in my system on en1 without it freezing? I have a P35 chipset abit board with two integrated realtek LAN's and am also using a USB Zydas 1211 dongle as well. Thanks!
  5. Here is how to properly install NVIDIA video drivers for your OSX86 installation. Step 1: Clear old drivers and cache files. Navigate to the Utilities folder and run Terminal, and follow these commands: sudo su (enter password when asked) cd /Volumes ls (choose drive name you installed OS X on) cd drivename/System/Library rm -rf Extensions.mkext rm -rf Extensions.kextcache cd Extensions rm -rf Caches rm -rf GeF*.* rm -rf NV*.* Close Terminal. Step 2: Download OSX86 Tools by clicking here, and install the program by dragging and dropping the .app file to the Applications or Utilities folder. Step 3: Run the program, select if you want it to check for updates or not. There are a lot of options available, but the only one we care about right now is the Install Kexts button. Click this button, then click OK, a browser window will pop up and allow you to select your driver files, select all of them and then click Choose. A new window will pop up, confirm which drive name your OS X installation is on, then click OK. You will be prompted to enter your password, enter it now and installation should complete. It will ask you to restart, restart your computer now. At the 5-second boot prompt hit Enter and boot with the -v flag in verbose mode to check your handy work. Note: Always use drivers with the correct device ID and vendor ID string, and proper NVCAP value for your model video card. If using an injector, make sure that the injector supports your model of card; if using an EFI (gfx) string make sure you have the correct string associated with the model of card in YOUR system. A new NVINJECT will automatically detect your card, but you will need to modify the NVCAP and VRAM setting IF you are using the generic NVINJECT file; if you are using a modified NVINJECT file made specifically for your card you can just overwrite the old file. Make sure you clear the Extensions.mkext, Extensions.kextcache files located in System/Library, and also clear the Caches folder located in System/Library/Extensions. I would recommend clearing the driver and cache files/folder, and reinstall your drivers. I would also recommend remaking your EFI string in your com.apple.Boot.plist (located in Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration) even if you are using the same hardware. Try booting your machine after driver/cache clear, if that doesn't work remove the string from the plist file and try booting again or with an injector instead.
  6. Every time I create my kext and put it in extensions folder I get this message The system extension "/System/Library/Extensions/nameofextensionhere.kext/Contents/Plugins/HDAEnabler.kext" was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact the product's vendor for an update. How can I fix this problem?
  7. Well, the HCL on the wiki is down at that moment (sql error) so I'm asking here. I obtained a legit copy of Leopard and would like to know if it will work my new system. I would like to run the OS as my primary OS, no dual booting. Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 Motherboard: Abit IP35 Pro Graphics: nVidia 8800GTX Sound: Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional I believe that is all the crucial components which make a difference. Let me know if anyone needs more info.
  8. Well I downloaded and burned an image of 10.5.1, booted from the DVD, and while loading it all seems to stop on this: ERROR: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure. ... and then it reboots my PC. So, what could the problem be here, and why does my PC keep restarting after this comes up? I'd link to the image I downloaded, but I'm not sure if that is allowed..?
  9. I don't have a DVD burner (yeah yeah I know). So I was wondering, is it possible to break the DVD installation into a multi-disc installation to be burned to regular discs? Thank you.
