Office 2004 problem

Everytime I try running my office in the University it tells me that someone else is using that version on the network, is there any way i can fix this? thanks

You can fix this if you disconnect from the internet. Besides that, I'm not really sure..

i think that you have same serial number like someone one your network ...

try to change it ...

You have the exact same serial number as someone else, probably because you "borrowed" that person's version of office. In order to use it, you have to be off the network.

Thanx for the reply. How can i change the serial number? and yes this is how i use it in school it seems like a lot of people have the same serial because everytime i connect its someone else using it.

If you are using your own mac (or hack for that matter), you could install a firewall app called "LittleSnitch". Then deny the access to the network next time Office tries to (LittleSnitch will prompt you automatically).

oh and this will occur whenever office tries to communicate with the network? ill give it a try thanks

 

its working and all, is there a way to allow everything and only block the MS 2004 ports? because the popups are getting annoying!
