YKSOFT1
Is XPostfacto works with current build of 10.5? One of my friend got a Beige G3 and successfully installed 10.4.9 on it with XPostfacto. it's rather sluggish with a 266MHz CPU and a PCI Raedon 9550 card. Anyone here tried Leopard on such an ancient machine? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64042-leopard-on-a-beige-g3/ Share on other sites

Lactobacillus P
I could try it on my G4, but that is just running 10.4.10 very hapily. Why bother? scj312
I could try it on my G4, but that is just running 10.4.10 very hapily. Why bother? It should run fine on your G4. Lactobacillus P
Hmmm, perhaps it's worth downloading it and giving it a try.... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/64042-leopard-on-a-beige-g3/#findComment-453373 Share on other sites
YKSOFT1
I read the developer document and it said the CPU should be faster than a 867MHz G4. So if I need to try it I must do something with the installer script. halo1982
When I was looking through the application binaries with lipo on 9A527 I noticed the architectures were i386 and ppc7400. Which probably means there is little to no chance Leopard will ever run on a G3, as all of the apps are compiled for a G4.
