I got this error when I try to install OS X.

The weird part is, I always used the same DVD and DVD burner, but now I'm with a new motherboard and can't install.

Previous board: Asus P5W DH Deluxe

Current board: Asus P5K Deluxe

Help!

com.apple.boot.plist errors are usually a sign that you possibly have a bad DVD. But in this case it seems to be a problem with your new motherboard. Apparently the error sometimes goes away if you try using an external DVD drive. One other thing that fixes it sometimes is turning OFF AHCI features in your computers BIOS.

Try the tips and post back what happens :D

pcwiz

My current DVD burner is an IDE one. I was able to boot from it and install all Windows flavors (XP, XP x64, Vista, etc), only Mac OS X is complaining :)

I'm not using AHCI and I don't have an external case to use, but it seems the only option I have is buying a SATA DVD Burner.

This really sucks because 1) there's nothing wrong with my current one, 2) I'll have to spend some money only because of OS X. Oh well..

Anyway, is SATA DVD really faster then an IDE?

install through vmware to native you can find all the info that you need here

Thanks for the hint blacknight, I really forgot about this method!

I managed to install using this method (just had to change my SATA drive to AHCI on bios otherwise Mac OS X won't boot after installation).

Now I just have to hack some kexts to get my LAN and Sound Onboard working.
