com3
Do u guys think that apple will release a 3g phone to European users anytime soon? or will it be too big of a back stab to apple fanboys allover the US? specially the early adopters of the iPhone? let me know what you thing, or if you have any info regarding a 3g upgrade. P.S. This question has nothing to do with GSM. Whats the wifi chip on the iPhone? is it b/g or does it also include n? Thanks. skyhighmac
No n. I know that, well maybe there is, it just isn't enabled. There is 3g in the works, the question is when. They might release it closer to the holidays. Keep in mind that apple hasn't struck a deal with any European carrier, so it might be a while for you guys. com3
donnow about the 3g in the current iPhone, maybe a newer version of it, thats what i was thinking, because the main selling point of 3g is video calls, and the lack of a front camera is a big hint of them excluding 3g from the current version. A software update may enable more software features of the iPhone, such as the new iTunes wifi store and the such but when it comes to hardware. i think that apple will release a new version of their mighty iPhone for us European and Middle eastern users. skyhighmac
Doubt it. Apple would get seriously pissed off if they did that. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62688-3g-iphone/#findComment-464728 Share on other sites
Urbz
Please, that is so badly photoshopped it hurts my eyes. As for 3G: Steve Jobs had been quoted somewhere saying that the reason for no 3G was that it sucked hella battery life. Until the chip's energy consumption decreases a lot, we will not be seeing 3G in the iPhone. I'm sorry that I've forgotten where it was from... I'll look for it. I think (maybe!) it could have been from the All Things Digital conference... EtherealRemnant
Well good news for Apple then, VIA has made a chip that runs on a single watt of power: http://www.linuxdevices.com/news/NS2399097703.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62688-3g-iphone/#findComment-464974 Share on other sites
