com3 Posted September 7, 2007 Share Posted September 7, 2007 Well a lot of people are asking this question on the net and from what i've seen from "apple"s website it shows that it does in the pictures, and i've read somewhere that a reliable source told them that it actually has a Bluetooth chip but not yet activated or something. I personally think that they "Apple" wouldnt leave something like that out! specially with all the profit they can make by merging with Skype to make VoIP calls using ur BT headset or even a brand new apple bt headphones. let me know what ya'll think. Plus if you've ever used BT2.0 its much faster then the older version, the iPhone supports 2.0 bt so,,,,, I think that they should add it. I can't see them cheaping out on the capacity (32 gigs would have made sense to at least match the low end 5G) yet paying for other hardware to be added that serves no purpose. venomq Posted September 11, 2007 Share Posted September 11, 2007 from here Update 3: Two more bits: we heard from a pretty decent source that the touch internals are very similar to the iPhone internals, and that there is a Bluetooth chip in there -- it's just not activated. We'll all find out as soon as someone dismantles one of these little buggers, but whether or not that's actually the case, we took a peek at the touch's FCC filing, which went live yesterday. It only contains tests for WiFi, meaning if there IS Bluetooth in there, at very least they're going to have to get it cleared again by the FCC before flipping the switch. but it ist to soon to guess. wait untill someone dismantels the ipod touch and then we will se. I still haven't seen much more than 40KB/s over BT 2.0+EDR between various different devices. But Bluetooth is meant to be short range (for the most part) anyways.
