Baliw
Just burn it to a disk there is no special thing to do, its just a file. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61839-burn-dmg-image/#findComment-438796 Share on other sites
Davejb
Actually it's not just a file, it's a disk image, just burning it to a disk will not result in the proper CD being created, just as burning an ISO file to a disk will not result in the image of the original disk. Not all burning software can deal with .dmg files. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/61839-burn-dmg-image/#findComment-439270 Share on other sites
Baliw
If he is trying burn the content of dmg files, i will say yes its not possible (but he can use ImgBurn for converting to iso). And if he is only trying to burn the dmg file then you can just burn it as a single file. Sabr
Errm, I'm not sure but I think PowerISO can handle .dmg's. Then again, been a while since I used XP, so I may be wrong... bluedragon1971
There are a couple of things to take into consideration. If the dmg is a typical compressed or encrypted one, then it's rather difficult to find a burning program on Windows that will burn it. If it is a CD/DVD Master type (usually has an extension of .cdr, but not always) then you can burn it with Nero. In Nero, go to the Recorder > Burn Image dialog box and browse to the folder where you have the dmg stored, and in the drop down box at the bottom, select All Files instead of Images. Select your dmg file and burn it. If Nero asks about a "foreign image", select HFS in the drop down box and don't change any other settings. I've burned lots of dmgs this way, but remember that they HAVE to be uncompressed and unencrypted. You can usually tell those because they are exactly, to the byte, the size of the media you are burning.
